Personality
The Saint Bernard is the ultimate big-hearted babysitter in a fur coat. Think of them as a warm, furry couch with legs — one that occasionally drools on your slippers and eats your sandwich by accident. These dogs were bred to rescue stranded travelers in the Alps, but nowadays they mostly rescue snacks from your countertops. Patient, gentle, and goofy, they tolerate just about everything — including toddler rodeos and cats with attitudes. Training them is less about discipline and more about politely asking them to consider moving… slowly. Despite their bulk, they believe they’re lap dogs and will sit on you like a 150-pound marshmallow with paws. Just bring a mop — because wherever a Saint Bernard goes, slobber follows.

Trait Table
Saint Bernards are calm, loving giants with an unshakable devotion to their humans. While they’re low-energy and easygoing, their protective instincts are solid and their tolerance for chaos (and toddlers) is legendary. Grooming and drool are part of the deal—but so is their massive heart.
