Miniature Schnauzer

Personality

With eyebrows that rival angry professors and a beard that says “distinguished gentleman,” the Miniature Schnauzer takes its role as home security advisor very seriously. This pint-sized sentinel has a bark loud enough to wake the neighborhood and the confidence of a dog three times its size.

Highly intelligent and always one step ahead, the Schnauzer is quick to learn, quick to play, and quick to tell you when something is not quite right (like that squirrel across the street or your neighbor's recycling bin). They love their people fiercely and often follow them like fuzzy shadows, even if it’s just to the bathroom.

Though they look posh, they’re more clown than aristocrat—diving into play with gleeful abandon and occasionally barking at their own reflection. Their wiry coat requires upkeep, but their low-shedding nature is a bonus for allergy-prone households. They're equal parts comedian, guard dog, and best friend, all neatly packaged with style.

Miniature Schnauzers are affectionate and alert, with high intelligence and a signature mustache. They're playful watchdogs, responsive to training, and adaptable to various home sizes. While they need regular grooming, their loyalty and wit more than make up for it.
