The Brittany (never call them a Spaniel—they’re still talking to their therapist about that) is a high-octane athlete disguised as an adorable ginger-freckled cuddle bug. These dogs are made for action: pointing, retrieving, chasing butterflies, and possibly rearranging your shoe rack for fun. They're smart, cheerful, and so eager to please that they’ll start learning new tricks before you even teach them. Though generally quiet indoors, they buzz with enthusiasm and thrive on games, training sessions, and any excuse to sprint in joyful zigzags. Their compact size makes them manageable, but don’t be fooled—this is a working dog who thinks lounging is for lesser mammals. Give them a job, a tennis ball, and your undivided attention, and they’ll be your best friend for life (and your most energetic roommate).
